On ENGIE’s proposal, Elengy’s Board of Directors decided to appoint Sandra Roche-Vu Quang as CEO of Elengy effective on June 1st 2019, succeeding Laurence Borie-Bancel, who has been appointed to other positions within ENGIE.
Elengy, a subsidiary of GRTgaz, belongs to the scope of gas infrastructures in France supervised by Didier Holleaux, Group Executive Vice President.
Sandra Roche-Vu Quang, 48, is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Nantes with a specialization in offshore design and naval architecture.
Before joining the Group, she held various managerial positions in Oil and Gas projects for multinational Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Companies (Technip, Sofregaz, Saipem), in several countries (West Africa, North Sea, Gulf of Mexico, China) and different sectors, particularly in upstream onshore/offshore activities and regasification of liquefied natural gas (LNG*).
Sandra Roche-Vu Quang joined GDF SUEZ Group (Suez Environnement) in 2006 as Director of Operations of Degrémont Industry (turnkey industrial water treatment plants). She worked as Deputy Vice President Projects for GDF SUEZ Exploration & Production. Later appointed Senior Vice President for New Gas, she worked during two years defining and promoting the Group’s medium and long-term Green Gas strategies (biogas, hydrogen, etc.).
Since January 2018, Sandra Roche-Vu Quang was Chief Business Development Officer for North, South and Eastern Europe Business Unit, also in charge of developing and managing activities in new regions and countries (Russia, Ukraine and Nordic countries). She is a member of Storengy SAS strategic committee and the Board of Directors of Storengy Deutschland and IFP School.
*Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is natural gas that has been liquefied by cooling it to minus 160°C. For the same amount of natural gas, the volume of LNG is about 600 times lower than that of its gaseous state. The transport of natural gas in liquid form at atmospheric pressure allows ships to carry large amounts of energy resulting in an efficient and competitive means of transportation to diversify sources and supply routes and access remote gas reserves.
A pioneer in liquefied natural gas (LNG), Elengy is a subsidiary of GRTgaz within the ENGIE Group.
Leader in LNG terminal services in Europe, Elengy is at the service of all energy suppliers wishing to import liquefied natural gas to supply French and European markets. Elengy operates and develops three LNG terminals in France: Montoir-de-Bretagne on the Atlantic coast; Fos Tonkin and Fos Cavaou on the Mediterranean coast.
Some benchmarks for 2018:
Regasification capacity: over 20 billion m3 LNG per year
Quantity of energy received: more than 22% of French consumption
215 port calls made
